            | Turtle & Tortoise Rescue If you have found a turtle or tortoise and can't locate the owner, contact the San Diego Turtle & Tortoise Society. Tele #: 619-593-2123. One of our Care Consultants will contact you about turning in the chelonian to the Society. Because we are all volunteers, it may take several days for us to return your call. Please be patient. In the meantime, provide the turtle a secure area away from dogs. Make sure water is available for box turtles. Access to shade is also important during this warm season. Review of our Care Sheet section may help in identifying the species and resulting care.
