October 8 HIBERNATION CLINIC

Hibernation is nature's mechanism to protect its cold-blooded creatures (and some warm-blooded animals as well) in cold weather or when food and water are scarce.  Some commonly kept species that will try to hibernate are the Desert tortoises; the Russian tortoise; the Box turtles; the Wood turtles; the Spotted turtles.

But the decision to let a captive tortoise or turtle hibernate can be confusing and hard to make.  Society members and care specialists can help you. Join this forum to determine what is best for the species you keep.
